Bárbara Berkeley Mesquita started her own legal practice in 2003, after graduating as a lawyer from the Law Faculty of Lisbon University in 1996.
After her trainee period and initial work in Lisbon in civil and public law, she was admitted to the Portuguese Law Bar in 1999. She returned to the Algarve in 2003 and immediately started to work with Property Law, mainly assisting clients in Property Purchase and Sale, Wills and Succession.
These fields of practice have been her core business over the years, also developing work in Public Contracts Law and completed a post-graduate specialisation in Family Mediation (an area that interested her particularly when her own family grew).
Since 2020 Bárbara has been dedicated to Property Law, as this has been her favourite field of practice over the last 20 years, and other areas such as Wills, Succession, Residency and Fiscal Regimes applicable to investors in Portugal.
